Al frente de un equipo multinacional, lidera los programas, actividades, políticas y procesos a través de toda la compañía para limitar la exposición, optimizar el cumplimiento y reducir el riesgo en todas las áreas del negocio en las disciplinas de continuidad de negocio, seguridad física, seguridad de la información, riesgos TI, prevención de fraude, gestión de efectivo y divisas. Anteriormente, entre otros, ha sido Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) en NCG Banco y Caixanova, Profesor Invitado de la Universidad de Vigo, docente en la Escola Gallega de Administracion Publicas (EGAP). Es ingeniero superior en informática, master en E-business por la Politécnica de Catalunya y en Seguridad Corporativa por la Antonio de Nebrija. Dispone de las certificaciones más relevantes del sector, es miembro activo de múltiples comités y juntas en organizaciones como ISMS Forum, IDC Advisory Board, (ISC)2, Cloud Security Alliance España. Es ponente habitual en materias relacionadas con riesgos corporativos, fraude y seguridad.

Ver másChief Data Officer del Banco de España desde marzo de 2024. Se unió al Banco tras su experiencia en Accenture, en 2009. En 2017, llega al puesto de Responsable de Riesgos y Seguridad de la Información, convirtiéndose en el CISO de la entidad hasta marzo de 2024.
Miembro de la Junta Directiva del ISMS Forum, colabora con sus actividades, además de participar en la elaboración de guías de referencia y es ponente y participante habitual de sus eventos y de otros eventos tanto a nivel nacional como internacional.
Su bagaje también incluye la dirección de dos cátedras, dos Máster y un Programa Ejecutivo, así como la docencia en varios Másters en las materias de Ciberseguridad, Datos e Inteligencia Artificial, en Escuelas de prestigio como el IE, el CE Garrigues, la EIP International Business School y el propio ISMS junto con la UCM.

From AI Adoption to AI Governance

This project provides a structured framework for the governance of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in organizations, addressing AI as a strategic capability that introduces significant ethical, regulatory, operational, and cybersecurity risks. Developed by ISMS Forum, the study responds to the accelerated adoption of AI, particularly generative AI and large language models, and the need to ensure trustworthy, compliant, and secure AI use.
The framework integrates AI governance principles, risk management, data governance, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance, including alignment with the EU Artificial Intelligence Act. It defines roles, responsibilities, and governance bodies, and establishes controls across the AI lifecycle, from design and development to deployment, monitoring, and retirement.
Special attention is given to generative AI and foundation models, identifying their specific risks and outlining governance and security-by-design measures. Overall, the project offers practical guidance to help organizations implement effective AI governance, support informed decision-making, and strengthen organizational resilience.

Speaking the Language of the Board: The CISO and Senior Management Alignment

This project explores the evolving role of the CISO as a strategic leader and a key interface between cybersecurity and senior management. In an environment where cyber risk has become a core business risk, the document analyzes how CISOs can effectively align security objectives with organizational strategy, risk appetite, and executive decision-making.
The study highlights the shift from a purely technical role to a governance, risk, and leadership function, emphasizing communication with boards and executives, accountability, and influence within corporate governance structures. It addresses organizational models, responsibilities, and competencies required for CISOs to operate at executive level and drive security as a business enabler rather than a cost center.
Ultimately, the project provides CISOs with practical insight to strengthen their positioning, credibility, and impact within senior management, enabling more effective risk-based decision-making and resilient organizational security strategies.
